Say Yes!

Life is so fleeting!  How are you going to move upward and onward if you don’t say “YES” to life!

Say YES to:

new things you think you can't do then find out you CAN do them!
wearing your favorite clothes more often and not just for special occasions!
 surrounding yourself with beautiful things!
buying the best quality you can afford!
 staying active---physically and mentally!
 choosing to be happy!

See Beauty

See Beauty in your surroundings.  I hope you find beauty in the place where you live.  I see it everywhere in my hometown.  It’s true that the more you focus on beauty the more you see of it.  The same is true with Perfection: Turn your attention to where Perfection is, and Perfection must flow back in response, to fill your world!

Ten things Roxan would have told her younger self.

1)  Eat less sugar.  It weakens the system.

2)  Don’t worry.  It doesn’t help you.

3)  Dare to never ‘kill time.’  Life is too fleeting and there is so much to do.

4)  Be grateful everyday.

5)  Create good eating and exercise habits.

6)  Keep disciplined with eating well and exercising regularly.  It will pay off.

7)  Enjoy nature and come to know how precious and beautiful she is.

8)  Go to bed before midnight.

9)  Always get enough rest.

10) Have fun and laugh a lot.

F.A.S.H.I.O.N.

FFun

A – Affordable

S – Simple

H - Honorable

I -   Individualistic

O – Onward

N – Natural

Let’s keep Fashion ‘FUN‘, shall we?  After all, it is an expression of who you are and there is no one else like you!  That’s worth celebrating with some things that are FUN!

Keeping your wardrobe budget affordable is the right thing to do.  There is no need to overspend to look up to date and fabulous.   There are too many options for buying in your price range to go over budget.  There are clothing exchanges (where women get together and bring their unused clothing and trade clothes with each other).  There are second hand stores and consignment stores to find great gently used articles.  Plus, department stores have wonderful sales where you can find bargains.  And, of course, you can always pay full retail—if it is in your budget.

Keep your style simple so it doesn’t detract from you.  Keep your style simple so your outfit won’t ‘walk in the room’ before you do!

Let your clothes honor who you are and honor your body type.  Clothes should fit well.  Get clothes altered to fit you well.

Keep a sense of individualism with how you put an outfit together.  Even if you wear a classic tee-shirt and jeans, wear that piece of jewelery only you have to make a statement that their is only one you!

O is for onward which means that your clothes should be helping you evolve onward in your life.  Some clothes just make you feel a certain way and ‘that way’ might be how you used to feel and don’t want to feel anymore.  It would be time to get rid of that piece.  You are evolving and so should your wardrobe.

Most importantly, you must feel natural in your clothes.  You must be natural in your clothes, not unnatural and stiff.  Clothing should enhance who you are and let the ‘natural’ you shine through!

Yoga Retreat with Kate Potter

I just came back from a weekend yoga retreat taught by Kate Potter from Vancouver.  She writes and directs the TV show called Namaste Yoga for FIT TV which I have been watching and following for a few years now.   She is so lovely and knowledgeable.  I highly recommend her style of yoga for all levels.

Yoga has been a part of my life since I was 12 years old.  At that time I had a very big growth spurt and it seemed I was always in pain.  It was then that I discovered yoga and started to practice on my own in my bedroom after school and my pain went away because of yoga.  I haven’t stopped practicing yoga since then!

Click on the following link to start practicing Kate Potter’s style of yoga wherever you are or watch her beautiful show on FIT TV.   http://vimeo.com/3708137 Let me know if you like her series, too!

Feel Good To Look Good

Research conducted for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores has revealed that in order to be healthy, you first have to look really hot: “The first stage of health and wellness is beauty,” said researcher Thom Blischok.

Personally, for the longest time I believed this— you first had to look really hot in order to feel good.  But from my experience I truly believe now that a person has to first feel good to help them really look good and look healthy.  What do you think?  Don’t you think a healthy outlook on life is essential to your overall ‘look’?  A healthy mental outlook puts a sparkle in your eyes which no amount of makeup could give you.  Plus, it is more long lasting.  Yes, looking really hot helps you feel good, but feeling good first and foremost can long outlast any outer garment.  Don’t you agree?

Nature = Beauty

Have you ever thought about the beauty of nature and how it can be translated into beauty for us women?

One of my favorite clothes designers, Diane Von Furstenburg, http://inside.dvf.com/ will often go into nature to be inspired for designs on her fabrics.

Nature will give us ideas about which colors work well together and then we can duplicate that with our clothing.

We have to look pulled together when we go on castings or show up for jobs.  Remember that nature can help relax you, inspire you and help you feel beautiful!
